The blue-transmitting / green-reflecting dichroic mirror works at 45°: it highly transmits the 440–480 nm blue band and effectively reflects green light above 500 nm. This unique 45° blue high-transmission characteristic gives it exciter-filter performance in fluorescence microscopes — reflected green fluorescence is projected precisely onto the detector, greatly improving contrast and SNR.
