Description
The corner cube retroreflector is a self-compensating mirror structure completely insensitive to position and motion (e.g. tilt), ideal for Michelson interferometers and mounting inside instruments where the housing protects it. Being lightweight it suits retroreflectors translated along the optical axis; its hollow structure eliminates material absorption and chromatic aberration. It can be coated across the spectrum from UV to far-IR and works well in harsh environments; standard coatings are aluminum, silver and gold, bare or with protective layers. Applications: interferometry, Michelson interferometers, aerospace, defense systems and laboratory instruments.
